leak, if only a little. That’s why they have bilge pumps. Doesn’t it make
sense to be able to tell whether or not any of them have been running? Better
yet, it would be useful to know how many times each of them ran while you were
away. RV's and boats have a pressurized water system. The water line from your pump can
come loose from vibration or bumps, causing your pump to run and your water to
spill out. It would be nice to know this is happening before you arrive at your
destination with no water left. Conventional electromechanical counters work, but have numerous shortcomings. They have small, hard to see displays, and installing them requires that a hole (usually rectangular) be cut in a panel or a special bracket needs to be made. They also have no protection from multiple counts due to wave action and you have to remember to check them regularly to have any benefit. The CycleStat® DC Multi-Purpose Event Counter doesn’t have these shortcomings. It’s simple to mount and wire, easy to read, and even lets you know from a distance whether its count needs to be checked. It doesn’t count short events (less than about 1 second in length) so you won’t see a hundred counts caused by wave action. Running the pump for a second won’t fill the outlet tube, so nothing would be pumped overboard. Wired to the equipment switch and your 12 VDC or 24 VDC system, it counts each time an automatically-controlled device turns on and lights a bright red LED to let you know. |

other equipment as well. Hook it to your fresh water pump to warn you of a water
leak. Wired to your VacuFlush™ pump, it’ll let you know if you need to check
the vacuum system for leaks. Keeping a record of counts over a specific time
period lets you know if a slow leak (such as a shaft or rudder seal) is getting
worse. Wiring the CycleStat® DC Counter is a simple process. Just connect two of its three color-coded wires to the pump switch wires and the third wire to battery negative. That’s all there is to it. Due to the distance between the DC Counter and the pump switch, an in-line fuse may be recommended by ABYC. Features of the CycleStat® DC Counter (MC-1) and the CycleStat® DC Counter with Remote Indicator (MC-1R):
The Remote Indicator has a combination LED display/push-button with legend plate and comes with a 10 ft. 4 conductor black sheathed cable. The opposite end includes a 6p4w telephone-type plug which plugs into the 6p4w telephone-type jack on the DC Counter. |
